A flange connection involves fixing two pipes, fittings, or equipment to separate flanges, placing a gasket between them, and then tightening them together with bolts. Some fittings and equipment already have integrated flanges, which also fall under the category of flange connections. Flange connections are an important connection method in pipeline construction. They are convenient to use and can withstand high pressure. In industrial pipelines and in homes, where pipe diameters are small and pressures are low, flange connections are not commonly seen. However, in a boiler room or production site, flanged pipes and equipment are ubiquitous.

Flange connections can be categorized by connection method as follows: plate flat-face flanges, necked flat-face flanges, necked butt-welding flanges, socket-welding flanges, threaded flanges, flange covers, necked butt-welding ring loose flanges, flat-face flanges, ring groove flanges and flange covers, large-diameter flat flanges, large-diameter high-neck flanges, figure-eight blind flanges, and butt-welding ring loose flanges, etc.
